PFM-1, the “butterfly”

Introducing the PFM-1 Anti-Personnel mine, a peculiarly shaped device that is typically dropped from a cassette holding up to 72 mines, spreading them over a 40-meter area. These mines are designed to not appear dangerous, making them a source of curiosity for those who are unfamiliar with their deadly purpose.

The PFM-1 mine is a formidable enemy, capable of causing severe damage and injury to both military personnel and civilians. Despite its unusual appearance, this mine is a lethal weapon that must be taken seriously by all who encounter it.

Our team is committed to developing innovative solutions to identify mines such as the PFM-1.

The most significant obstacle we have encountered in developing our object recognition technology is the challenge of collecting sufficient data. Specifically, we require at least 1000 images per mine class to train our system effectively.

To overcome this challenge, we have implemented a range of innovative approaches, including using 3D printed mines to create a comprehensive dataset for initial testing. These 3D printed mines are proving to be an invaluable resource, allowing us to develop our object recognition technology and ensure it performs accurately in real-world scenarios.
