PRESS RELEASE: T-Kartor partnership

DEMINE Foundation Announces Strategic Partnership with T-Kartor to Enhance Humanitarian Demining Efforts

Stockholm, Sweden — August 22, 2024 — DEMINE Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to clearing landmines and explosive remnants of war (ERW) from conflict zones, is proud to announce a strategic partnership with T-Kartor, a renowned provider of geospatial solutions and mapping technologies. This collaboration marks a significant step forward in the Foundation’s mission to create safer environments for communities impacted by landmines and other ERW.

Empowering Demining Efforts with Advanced Geospatial Technology
The partnership will leverage T-Kartor’s cutting-edge, NATO-classified mapping and geospatial intelligence technology to enhance DEMINE Foundation’s demining operations. By integrating T-Kartor's expertise in developing precise, real-time maps and spatial data management systems, DEMINE Foundation has taken a significant leap towards launching a landmine mapping suite.

"The partnership with T-Kartor is a game-changer for our project and has shaved at least one year of development time from our organization," said James Phipps, CEO and Founder of DEMINE Foundation. "Merging DEMINE’s mine detection data with T-Kartor’s advanced mapping technology will allow Ukrainian deminers are more effective and can clear land faster and with greater accuracy. This means more land returned to farmers and communities, more lives saved, and a faster path to recovery for Ukraine and other conflict areas."

A Shared Commitment to Humanitarian Causes
T-Kartor brings to the partnership not only their technical expertise but also a strong commitment to humanitarian causes. Their geospatial solutions are already instrumental projects, ranging from disaster response to mission planning, and they are now extending their capabilities to support humanitarian demining operations.

"At T-Kartor, we believe in using our technology to make a positive impact on the world," said Mats Pålsson, CEO of T-Kartor Group. "By partnering with DEMINE Foundation, we are able to apply our geospatial solutions to a cause that aligns with our values and expertise. Together, we can help create safer communities and support the vital work of removing landmines and unexploded ordnance."

Looking Ahead
The collaboration between DEMINE Foundation and T-Kartor will initially focus on Ukrainian areas heavily impacted by landmines, with plans to expand the efforts globally. The partnership will also involve training and capacity-building initiatives, ensuring that local teams are equipped with the skills and knowledge to utilize advanced geospatial tools in their demining activities.

Both organizations are excited about the potential of this partnership to make a tangible difference in the lives of people living in post-conflict areas.
